What can we do against global warming? Need to reduce emission of greenhouse gases. The biggest polluters of the atmosphere the livestock breeding, the electricity production and the car engines. Today one billion people go hungry. About the outsize production of meat a lot of methane get to into the atmosphere. The multibillion farm animals emit methane. This methane is responsible for half of the global warming.

The meat-eating is encoded in the genes of man. The energy efficiency of beef production is only 10%. A lot of energy need for life operation of cattle. The energy loss is 90% in the intensive meat production. The energy efficiency of grazing is very good, the beef meat is delicious. The methane load is lower in the atmosphere, as case of the intensive meat production.

In the picture we can see an Indian vegetable market. The Indians love vegetables. Meat 0.05 kg per day (0.1 pounds/day) is optimal for a human body. The menu are including: grilled eggplant, -zucchini, mushrooms stew.

19c.jpg

A lot of Indians do not eat meat. 250 million Hindus are vegetarians. Eat less meat, eat more vegetables and the methane load will reduce in atmosphere.

The solar panel does not pollute the atmosphere. It doesn't emit greenhouse gases. The solar panel produces electricity, it is direct current (DC). The input energy is solar energy. DC goes into converter and output is alternate current (AC). The wash machine, the washer machine, the television device are using alternate current. The solar cell works very well sunny day. In overcast days the electrical network is working. The user has to pay for electricity these days.

21.jpg

In the picture we can see a solar power plant. The solar panels are connected together in series. The output energy of panels is direct current (DC 300 V). The inverter converts the DC energy to alternate current (AC). This connects to electrical network. This electricity is green energy. The system doesn't emit carbon dioxide.

The airflow is mechanical energy. It's input energy of wind turbine. The output is the electrical power. Large wind farms consist of many wind turbines which are connected to the electrical network.

22.jpg

Strong wind blows on open water regularly every day. It is possible to plan the agenda for energy service. In Hungary the wind is a random phenomenon. Therefore the wind power utilization isn't significant.

23.jpg

The rotor spins by wind. The rotation speed of rotor is low. Have to increase it with gears. Result will be that, the generator's axle spins with high rotation speed.

23a.jpg

At night the excess energy have to store. At night the wind power plant is disconnected from electrical network and it develops hydrogen. From wind energy will be electrical energy and hydrogen. The carbon emission is zero. Can be developed hydrogen in the electrolysis of water. The hydrogen can be stored in steel bottles for cars, for buses.

24a.jpg

The hydrogen can be produced from natural gas too. The hydrogen is clean energy. If the hydrogen burns in a car, then not will be   carbon dioxide emission.

24b.jpg

A hybrid car have gasoline engine and electric motor. The driver can drive it from gasoline tank or from battery. It is a mixed mode. The greenhouse gas emission is low.

25.jpg

In the picture we can see a traditional thermal power plant. It is near a natural gas source. Input is natural gas and output is electricity. The smoke contains carbon dioxide. There are apparatus which can capture carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide goes in to underground storage. Carbon dioxide may be used for the manufacture of soft drinks.

The urea-based synthetic fertilizer emits nitrous oxide into atmosphere. It is greenhouse gas. The atmospheric load is reduced with calcium ammonium nitrate based synthetic fertilizer. The fugitive losses of this synthetic fertilizer is only 3%.

 26.jpg

The human activity pollutes the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere: carbon dioxide, methane … The ozone concentration is decreasing. The carbon footprint will be 50 to 200 years in the atmosphere.

What can you1 do against global warming?

  •          Reducing meat production in the agriculture,
  •          Carbon dioxide capture from smoke gas in plants
  •          We are1 using the renewable energies,
  •          We are1 using the hydrogen and electric in the transport.

Go for civilians! Save our planet from global warming!

1   We are: governments and policy-makers.
